Simple Fried Chicken

SIMPLE FRIED CHICKEN

Corona is still around having made up its mind to not leave us shortly. Every day looks like a gift from above. Apart from all the challenges, struggles of the unprecedented times we have to also face the curfew and lockdown for the good of everyone around us.

I feel that we are all going back to our roots of appreciating the fact of being yourself and not flicker around in clubs and party in search of entertainment.

We need to also appreciate the calmness and the awesome time we have got to take care of us and our families. I definitely love the part of trying new dishes and surprising the family. Simple recipes makes cooking fun and hanker after food.

This SIMPLE FRIED CHICKEN aka SFC is a super easy starter. Just a whole chicken and few spices. With kids around we have to think of simple cooking tips to spend more time having fun with them as well as concentrate on your work if you are working from home. Try it out!

Ingredients:

One whole Chicken- Approximately 1.25 kgs(cut in small cubes)

Ginger- Garlic Paste- 2 tbspn

Chilly Powder- 1 tbspn

Turmeric Powder- 1 tspn

Garam Masala Powder/ Pilau Masala- 1 tbspn

Thick Curd/ Plain Yoghurt/ Maziwa Lala- 1 tbspn

Corn Flour- 4 Tbspn

Oil- 1 Ltr(Frying)

Salt to taste

Method:

1. Toss in all the ingredients except corn flour in a bowl and mix gently to make sure all the ingredients get coated well along the chicken cubes.

2. Let the chicken cubes to sit for 30 minutes.

3. After 30 minutes heat the oil in a frying pan. In the meanwhile add the corn flour and coat the chicken cubes. Corn flour is used here to make the chicken crispy.

4. When the oil is hot enough, fry the chicken cubes at medium heat until the cubes turn golden brown.

To add more nutritional value you can add sesame seeds along with the chicken cubes and fry. I have used pan fried curry leaves to garnish. You can use the same or chopped chives/cilantro.

ENJOY THE WINTER! STAY HOME! STAY SAFE!
